My Name Is Jacqueline.

Black, Brown and White…
these are simply colours

I am a Living Soul
and my skin colour is black

I am not merchandise
to be labelled and put in a carton

I am a Human
and a beautiful woman

Red blood flows in my veins
just the same as yours

My name is Jacqueline
and I belong to Human Race

So tell me,
who are you?

  1. I am white with red blood flowing through my veins with blue fingers and toes from the cold, lol ! A beautiful and beloved creation of the Creator, as are we all 🙂

      1. Yours would be a far more interesting colour I would think – sort of a purplish blue 🙂

  2. That was a very strong post! Well done!! You are a beautiful soul indeed.
I am a beautiful Indian, a soul that feels, aches and laughs just like any other… A soul that knows no religion nor race, caste nor Creed! A Human!

  3. I am a daughter, mother, grandmother, student, teacher, friend…all of which I received as a gift from GOD, just like the rest of us. WE are people…and what comes from inside is far more important that what decorates the outside. 🙂

  4. I am a now point in a continuation that stretches eons, in both directions, along a space time continuum. Current nomenclature and description are meaningless as they are mutable and impermanent while that which drives “me” is eternal.

  5. I am not a feminist, but I love this:

  6. Beautiful poem… really beautiful poem. It reminded me once, this person say to me your Indian and English – aren’t you confused. I was like – !! I am Bella – what is there to be confused about, I am coloured by my surrounds, I am a fusion of cultures, a fusion of old and new, – I am bella and I won’t change – I rather like me … I will of course improve.

    Thanks for this.
