In my place, there is a proverb that says that ‘to start sleeping might be difficult, but when you do start, you begin to snore’ and another says that ‘when an old woman learns to dance to the rhythm that beats for her, she will not stop until that song is over.’
When we want to start something, there are usually a lot of hurdles set before us but if we stand our grounds and take off, the burden lightens as our stride gets firmer.
Yesterday, I wrote about distractions that pops up as we set out to achieve any goals or to do those things that needs to be done our lives, and the truth is that there will never be a perfect time for us.
There will always be distractions, so we also have to brace up and not lose focus when hit by these distractions, until we get to where we are going.
To a large degree, we have to be single-minded in our focus, otherwise, we will only find ourselves in a stagnated position or with bags full of regrets and self-recriminations.
The core strength is within us, it is only left for us to be resolute in pursuit of our purpose and at the end of it all, it will be well worth the effort.
In as much as our individual sense of success varies and is relative, there is always an enormous sense of fulfillment to be found within anyone who stuck it out and achieved their set goals.

Hi Jacqueline, I will be returning to read this post later but I just popped in to announce that I’ve nominated you for “The Blogger Appreciation Award” I know you’ve received many awards but I can’t think of a blogger I appreciate more than you. So know this comes with no strings attached and no obligations but I do adore you and your work and you make a difference in my life. Please see my new post at http://www.joyindestructible.com/2016/25/02/spreading-the-joy-by-the-warmth-of-appreciation. Now, I’m going to go take a nap because the real truth behind my procrastination with blogging awards is how stressful obtaining and posting links is for this aging baby boomer who often prays for solar flares.:0) I’ve always shunned ‘technicalities’ and now I find myself in a whole world gone technical! Love you! God bless!

Great advice! Effort affects everything. We really need to be focused and working toward our goals — carving out time for them. I make appointments with myself and keep them just like I would with a mentee or client. So far, it’s working. 🙂

Brilliant! I like that idea of keeping an appointment with yourself.

Wonderful reminder of how we can make effective changes in our lives by focusing on our dreams/goals, despite the hurdles and distractions of life. I’m no longer in the work force or driven to achieve success in this material world, but this applies to anyone, even with a personal goal. Wonderful post!

I agree 🙂 sometimes it’s just by taking small steps that we reach our goal and that’s okay if that’s all we can do. I keep reminding myself of that to keep from becoming frustrated especially when distractions pop up. This is a wonderful post affirming the power of perseverance. Thank you for the reminder 🙂 I hope you are having a lovely evening right now.

Indeed, I have been having a lovely time Melinda. Thank you so much. I always remind myself so that I don’t derail completely when distractions pop up.

Very true Olga. All goals should be treated the same. Personal or Work goals. Beside work might go away, but our life continues beyond work force. Thank you for your comments.
