There are some humans who are such inveterate liars that even the combination of lie detector and truth serum will not be able to drag the truth out of them.
Lying has become such a habitual thing to them that they don’t even know the truth if it jumps up and bites them in the butt.
They have told those lies to themselves and others so much, that it becomes a distorted truth in their minds.
When such people tell you good morning, you better take a very good look out of your window. You shouldn’t trust them as far as you can throw them.
Honesty and integrity should be a key character for me to relate with any human and once it is clear that you are a liar, your trust quotient becomes non-existent and unfortunately, whatever you say will be heretofore taken with a pinch of salt, if taken at all.
I respect the truth even if it is bitter. It is better to deal with. Telling a lie about a bad situation simply makes it worse.
That said, if I come in possession with one vial of truth serum; I wonder why only one vial, I think I shall first test it on to all the lying politicians especially those from my home country.
They have been hell bent on robbing a richly blessed Nation blind in the bid to cripple it’s economy with corruption and to the detriment of its citizenry.
It would be interesting to hear them sing their confessions like canaries about where they hid their stash of stolen booty which they will be made to restitute.
It makes me so unhappy to watch citizens of a society richly endowed with natural resources live in penury, while some hopelessly unprincipled leaders selfishly and greedily grasp that which is for general commune.

The Daily Post prompt Truth Serum
You’ve come into possession of one vial of truth serum. Who would you give it to (with the person’s consent, of course) — and what questions would you ask?
Ha ha my cousin, he lies convincingly without flinching. My question to him would be when would you stop lying?

It would be nice to hear his answer.

Sadly I don’t think the politicians would give their consent and if they did they would probably be lying!

Ha! Well, if you had told that white lie you still wouldn’t have been satisfied. The experience of burning off his ears and exhausting him is therapy for you 😉

It is such a shame that some people feel that they have to lie to get through life.

Ah! You said it well, my sister.
They lie their way during their campaigns, they get voted in and the lying continues. Their greed surpasses all understanding, it’s so irrational that it’s funny but still not amusing.
‘Honest Politician’ must be the most apt oxymoron yet.

Nne, it is very tiresome. In my books, I class them with slippery vipers. Not to be trusted!

I once stayed with a girl that will look you in the eyes and LIE. Sometimes, she made me feel like the liar.

I am sure you would almost start doubting your own sensibilities with such a character around. Not a friend to keep!

I with you sister. Some think they have magic words, able to change reality. Politicians these days have to be sociopathic to survive one another. It’s a huge mess.

I think that is the word. Sociopathic!

Like the title..pants on fire. Lying is so irritative..I have always wondered, why lie? Sometimes I err, then I feel so guilty even if its such a simple lie…that lie never leaves my head until I make it right. Who do I give it to?? Naija politicians is a good place to start though..can’t think of any close to me.

A little lie told will perturb me for days on end that I have learnt not to bother going that route. The stress is too much. Our politicians are truly disgraceful.

This made me smile as I immediately thought of politicians too. Oh what ugly truths they would be forced to blabber to their gullible followers!

I just experienced an explosive liar that yelled and made a big scene that made me feel sad to know that he has always lied and is still lying. I had hoped he had learned better – some people never learn. I just pray I do not have to be around this lying person anymore. I

Take yourself away and as much as possible diminish relationships with this person. Consummate liars never stop. Sorry about the bad experience.

Sorry he got upset because he was embarrassed by what he had said and I told people as they asked what my problem with him was. And he denied with a loud booming voice he never said it – so sad people are like this – especially in your own family. God Bless us Everyone

I think that is even worse when they are family members that one should trust. Well, now you know better.
